Delivery Service FAQ

What is Lee & Maria’s?

Lee & Maria’s is a family farm in Kingsville, Canada’s most southern town. We have farmed the same 30 acres of land for over 40 years and grow nearly two dozen different crops. Lee and Maria started farming the property in 1977, and their children plow the same fields today.

What is Lee and Maria’s From Our Farm Subscription Box program?

The subscription box program is a subscription-based fresh fruit and vegetable delivery box program. In 2012, Lee and Maria’s began delivering fruits and vegetables grown on the farm and other neighbouring farms to homes in the Windsor region. Over the years, the delivery service expanded, along with the number of different items offered. Lee and Maria’s now delivers directly to homes in Windsor, Essex County, Chatham, and London and ships to homes across Ontario, providing produce to homes within hours of it being picked.

How does it work?

The first step is to choose the subscription box right for you and your family. The contents of each box are based on dollar value, meaning the total number of items in each box can fluctuate slightly depending on the season.

Next, you choose your base schedule. Options include weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. Menus for the following week are released every Tuesday morning, and members will be notified when their menu is ready for substitutions to be made. This is also when you can add items from the market to the delivery. Menus close at 11:59 pm Wednesday, and the credit card on the account is charged. On the morning of your delivery, our staff hits the fields picking the fresh fruits and vegetables for your order. It’s then packed and sent to your home, either through our local delivery trucks (Windsor, London, and Chatham regions) or shipped via Canada Post.

Can I purchase a one-time Lee & Maria’s delivery that does not auto-renew?

Absolutely! During sign-up, be sure to choose a “One-time shipment” in the sign-up process.

Are There Any Fees?

We have different fees in different areas, because of the size of our delivery zones.

All customers are charged a $1.50 fee for a cardboard cost. This money directly offsets the cost of the box we use to pack in.

For delivery fees, we charge a $6.50 fee to deliver in the London area. In London we use a 3rd party courier to deliver our boxes to your home. This fee covers those costs. In Windsor, because we handle the delivery directly ourselves, there is no delivery fee.

What if I need to skip a month or put my subscription on hold?

Lee and Maria’s members have complete control of their delivery schedule. If you’re heading out of town, skip the delivery using the schedule manager in your account settings. You can also change the frequency from weekly to every two weeks if needed.

If you are shipping to my home, how long will it take?

We ship all boxes using Canada Post. Delivery from Windsor to the GTA and surrounding area is expected to be before 6 pm the next day. Shipping to the Kingston/Ottawa area takes two days. We ship using eco-friendly insulated boxes and biodegradable ice packs to ensure your produce arrives just as fresh as it was when it left our farm.

What are your Shipping & Billing Policies?

Our quality is 100% guaranteed. If you are unhappy with products in your delivery, email us a photo of the product, and we’ll happily reimburse your account for the value of the item. If you decide to cancel with us, we will credit the credit card on file. All orders must be paid for before the delivery week. If a payment is outstanding, we will cancel the order. There are no sign-up fees and no hidden upfront charges. Lee and Maria’s is not responsible for shipments lost due to incorrect addresses. If a box is returned to us due to an invalid address, we will charge a reshipping and handling fee of $15.95 to reship the package.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to Ontario addresses.

What is the market?

The market is the online version of our famous on-farm market. We make the majority of the Ontario-produced items sold in our on-farm market available through our online version. You can add items on a one-time basis or schedule recurring deliveries. A popular option is receiving a weekly delivery, but choosing one dozen free-range eggs to be delivered every-other-week. Items can only be added to subscription boxes and not purchased separately.

What if I moved and need to change my address?

You can change your address by logging into your account, or emailing us at subscription@leeandmarias.com – The cutoff date to change your address for the next delivery is Thursday at 12:01 am the previous week. After successfully changing your address, you will receive a confirmation email with your address change. Please ensure the confirmation email reflects the correct new address, and feel free to email us if you need assistance!

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel by logging into your account and clicking “cancel.” If you need any assistance, email us at subscrition@leeandmarias.com, and we’re happy to help!

How do I reactivate my subscription?

You can reactivate your subscription at any time by logging into your account and clicking “reactivate” or emailing us at subscription@leeandmarias.com. You will be automatically scheduled for the next available delivery week.

What is your refund policy?

If you are not 100% happy with the quality of the fruits/vegetables/grocery items you have received, we will credit your account for the items’ value. You can email subscription@leeandmarias.com if you are unsatisfied with any items. Please include a photo of the item in question. If you decide to cancel your account, we will refund your credit card for the item. Please allow 5 to 10 business days for the refund to appear back on your card.

We want you to be 100% happy with your box! If you are unsatisfied with your delivery, let us know!

What if my box is lost/stolen?

Every Lee and Maria’s box is delivered by one of our own delivery drivers or comes with tracking. Lee & Maria’s is not responsible for lost/stolen packages once marked as delivered by Canada Post or inaccurate addresses entered by the buyer. All claims for lost/stolen items can be made through Canada Post’s official website. Please ensure there is a secure location for you to receive packages.

What if my account has insufficient funds when I subscribe or when I am re-billed?

If your card is declined for insufficient funds or expired following your menu’s closure, Lee and Maria’s will automatically keep trying up to 3 times over 3 days. If your card remains unsuccessful, then we will cancel your delivery. If problems persist the following week, your account will be closed. It can be reactivated with an updated credit card at any time.
