For the first time this year the market was slow on a weekend, and we couldn’t be happier. While the Saturday filled with rain and storms kept people away from the farm, the day of rain may have saved two or three patches of our corn. The much needed moisture will do a lot to protect some of the crops we still have in the ground.
To give you an idea what’s coming for the fall, we have more corn, beans, peas, squash, radish, lettuce, kale, and herbs left…so there is still no shortage of goodies from our field. Locally apples are just starting to come on, we’ll have a few in the bins this week, but the heavy picking won’t begin until next week.
