The EPIC “Making Spirits Bright” Holiday Box is available for purchase from November 7th to December 15th, 2022.

 

The EPIC Wineries “Making Spirits Bright” Holiday Box is back for 2022! Once again, the EPIC wineries have teamed up with Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island and Lee and Maria’s.

 

This year’s “Making Spirits Bright” boxes include VQA wines from 14 of our local wineries but this year; we’re doing it a little differently! You can select from a mystery 12-pack ($275) which will feature a random selection of 12 of the 14 wines, or a 6-pack ($150) of red or a 6-pack ($150) of white/sparkling/rosé.

Italy is Europe's largest producer of rice. The wetlands and cool temperatures of the Lombardia region harbour ideal conditions for growing the special rice. Over the centuries, resourceful Italians developed a unique cooking technique combining rice with other ingredients common to their area, resulting in the classical Italian dish known as "risotto". The key ingredient for authentic risotto is Arborio rice. Arborio's characteristics and cooking properties allow it to absorb the flavours and to retain a certain firmness through the unique "risotto" cooking procedure. The texture and cooking properties of imported Arborio rice combined with intensely flavoured sun-dried tomatoes result in a perfect "al dente" risotto. Serve with grilled meats or chicken.
